-India is the world's largest producer of films.


- The first cinema hall built in Calcutta in 1907 by J.F. Madan which shows the foreigners films.

- Bombay was the first city wher film production started in 1912 and today’s this is called Bollywood.

How much you know about CFL and LED Bulb…….


- CFL and LED bulbs created a revolution in lighting in comparison of incandescent bulbs.
- CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Lamps and LED bulbs stands for Light Emitting Diode.
- LED bulbs last 60 times longer than Incandescent bulbs and 10 times longer than CFL.
- Replacing the incandescent bulbs to CFL reduces the energy cost up to 75% and LED bulbs reduce the cost up to 90%.
- Incandescent bulbs are cheaper then CFL and CFL are cheaper than LED bulbs.
- Problem with CFL bulbs is – They contain mercury as 5 mg which is hazardous which can be spread in      environment after breakage of bulb.
- The compact fluorescent lamp emits its efficient light through an arc of electricity that is created between two filaments. A small amount of electricity that is used in CFL creates radiation which emits ultraviolet light. When this light is emitted, it causes a reaction in the phosphor coating on the inside surface of the bulb and this reaction gives the white bright lights to us.
- LED brighten up when electrons moves around within its semiconductor structure
- LED bulbs are new tradition but they are costlier than both types of Bulbs.
- LED bulbs use only 2~10 watt of electricity.
- A 3 W LED bulb gives the output of 45 W incandescent bulb.

Definitely , LED Bulbs are the new generation home lighting solution for coming years.

How much you know about CRT and TFT-LCD computer monitor?


-          CRT stands for Cathode Ray Tube and TFT-LCD Stands for Thin Film Transistor – Liquid Crystal Display.

-          In CRT, the display device is a Cathode Ray tube.

-          In TFT-LCD, the display device is a flat array of thin film transistors.

-           CRT monitor is bulky, consume a lot of space and power thirsty.

-          TFT-LCD is smaller in size, consume less space and save power. A 15” CRT monitor consumes 100 W power in comparison to TFT consumes 30 W.

-          CRT monitor has much faster response time than TFT –LCD monitor.

-          CRT monitor has one more advantage than TFT as its color responses.  CRT displays colors much better than TFT.

-          TFT monitor are easier on the eyes of the viewers than the CRT.

-On July 31 , 1995 – West Bengal CM, Jyoti Basu made the first call on a cellular phone to Sukhram at Delhi with the help of a brick size mobile phone cost around Rs. 45K and call cost around Rs.16 per minute , This was just a revolutionary step towards the Indian telecommunication sector with the help of Modi Telstra’s MobileNet services in Calcutta ( Now Kolkata). Remaining is history in India and this is growing day by day.

-Martin Cooper a Motorola employee is known as the inventor of the first handheld mobile phone and he made the first call to his rival De, Joel S, Engel of Bell Labs on 3rd   April , 1973.  Thanks to Martin Cooper for his life changing invention which we call today “ Mobile Phone”

- The First SMS text message was sent from a PC to mobile phone in UK in the year 1992 and First Mobile phone to Mobile Phone was sent in Finland in 1993.

-The 1G generation cellular network was launched in Japan by NTT in 1979 in area of Tokyo and it was successful.

-2 G Generation cellular network was launched in Finland by Radiolinja in 1991.

- The much awaited service of 3G was firstly launched in Japan by NTT DoCoMo in WCDMA standard.

How much you know about your mobile Phone ?

- Every mobile phone has one connection either it is GSM or CDMA. GSM is Global System of Mobile Communication & CDMA is Code Division Multiple Access.

- Every mobile phone has an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number which can be visible after pressing * #06# and It is a 15 digit number which shows the genuiness of your mobile phone.

- You must note down your IMEI number with you because if your handset is being stolen, you can block the IMEI number then your handset will not work with any SIM card.

- SIM card is Subscriber Identity Module which securely stores the information regarding a subscriber or IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity).

- Every SIM card contains a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to protect the mobile phone from unauthorized use. This is given to every customer on the purchase of a new SIM.

- If you entered the wrong PIN number three times, your SIM card will be blocked and it will only unlock after getting the PUK (Personal Unlocking Key) from your Service provider.

- Cricket is actually originated in England in 15th Century.

- 1550 ( approx) – The evidence of cricket played in Surrey , England and then wherever England ruled, they took this game there.

- First official international cricket test match played in 1877 between England and Australia where Australia beat England by 45 runs at Melbourne.

- South Africa, West Indies and New Zealand played their first test match on 1889, 1928 and 1932 respectively.

- From 1900, the six ball over was introduced instead of five.

- 1971- First ODI cricket match was played between Australia and England at Melbourne, Australia.

- A cricket ball is between 8 13/16 and 9 Inches (22.4 cm and 22.9 cm) in circumference, and weighs between 5.5 and 5.75 ounces (155.9g and 163g).

- The bat is no more than 38 inches (97 cm) in length, and no more than 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) wide.

- The pitch is a rectangular area of the ground 22 yards (20 m) long and 10 ft (3.0 m) wide.

- The wicket consists of three wooden stumps that are 28 inches (71 cm) tall. They are positioned so they are 9 inches (23 cm) wide

- FIFA is the acronym for Fédération Internationale de Football Association. 
 - FIFA World cup idea was given by Jules Rimet in 1920. 
- The First World cup was played in 1930 in Uruguay and winner was Uruguay who beat Argentina in the final by 4-2.
- This mega sporting tournament was organized after every four years.
- FIFA world cup was not organized in 1942 and 1946 due to Second World War.
- Brazil topped the list of winning the title five times followed by Italy with four titles.
- Brazilian Ronaldo is the top scorer with 15 goals in world cup history followed by Gerad Muller with 14.

How much you know about Uttarakhand ?

- Uttarakhand is situated in the northern part of India whose co-ordinates are 30.33 “ N & 78.06 E and carved out of Himalaya region and some adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh.

- Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India on 9th November, 2000 after splitting from Uttar Pradesh.

- Uttarachnal was the initial name of this state but from January 2007, it officially retains its earlier name as Uttarakhand which means a state in the north.

- Uttarakhand is divided into two regions as Garhwal and Kumaon. These two regions had the ancient significance and they were known as Kedarkhand and Mansakhand respectively.

- The region was settled by the Kols dynasty. Later on may dynasties ruled in Uttarakhand.

- There are 13 districts in Uttarakhand. There are 6 districts in Kumaun region- Almora, Nanital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat , Udham Singh Nagar and 7 districts in Garhwal region – Dehradun. Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Chamoli , Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag.

- Uttarakhand shares its border with China and Nepal.

- The state animal is Musk deer, State bird is Monal , State tree is Rhododendron and state flower is Brahm Kamal.

- The famous tourist spot at Uttarakhand are – Nainital for its lake, Corbett national park , Mussorie, Ranikhet , Kausani etc.

- The spiritual destinations at Uttarakhand are many that is why this region is also known as “Devbhoomi”- A place of God. Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath , Jageshwar are some of the places for spiritual peace.

Delhi is situated in the bank of river Yamuna. The Yamuna witness to the glorious and tumultuous 5,000 year old history of Delhi.

Delhi was created as "Indraprastha" by the Pandavas and the transformation of this barren gift of the Kauravas as "Khandavprastha" into an idyllic heaven.

The first reference to the place-name Delhi, seems to have been made in the 1st century BC, when Raja Dhilu built a city and named it after himself.

Delhi has been destroyed and recreated 7 times and It is also known as Seven cities. Everytime after the destruction, new city were formed by its ruler as per their accord. They were named as Lal Kot, Siri, Tuglakabad, Jahapanah, Firozabad, Din-Panah, Shahjahanbad.

A history which encompasses all the various kings and emperors who fixed their royal citadels here... Indraprastha, Lal Kot, Quila Rai Pithora, Siri, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, Ferozabad, Dinpanah, Delhi Sher Shahi or then Shahjahanabad, but, combined and integrated into one, these 'new cities' have always been called Delhi

British founded New Delhi  in 1911 and shifted their capital to Delhi.

In 1950, Delhi was made the capital of Independent India and in 1992 it was declared a state.

Today Delhi is divided in 5 zones. Delhi Zones includes East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, North Delhi and Central Delhi.
