How much you know about Uttarakhand ?

- Uttarakhand is situated in the northern part of India whose co-ordinates are 30.33 “ N & 78.06 E and carved out of Himalaya region and some adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh.

- Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India on 9th November, 2000 after splitting from Uttar Pradesh.

- Uttarachnal was the initial name of this state but from January 2007, it officially retains its earlier name as Uttarakhand which means a state in the north.

- Uttarakhand is divided into two regions as Garhwal and Kumaon. These two regions had the ancient significance and they were known as Kedarkhand and Mansakhand respectively.

- The region was settled by the Kols dynasty. Later on may dynasties ruled in Uttarakhand.

- There are 13 districts in Uttarakhand. There are 6 districts in Kumaun region- Almora, Nanital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat , Udham Singh Nagar and 7 districts in Garhwal region – Dehradun. Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal, Chamoli , Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag.

- Uttarakhand shares its border with China and Nepal.

- The state animal is Musk deer, State bird is Monal , State tree is Rhododendron and state flower is Brahm Kamal.

- The famous tourist spot at Uttarakhand are – Nainital for its lake, Corbett national park , Mussorie, Ranikhet , Kausani etc.

- The spiritual destinations at Uttarakhand are many that is why this region is also known as “Devbhoomi”- A place of God. Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath , Jageshwar are some of the places for spiritual peace.

- Official languages of Uttarakhand are Hindi, Kumauni, Garhwali and Sanskrit.

- The literacy rate of Uttrakhand is around 72%.

- In present time, the chief minister of Uttarakhand is Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal and Governor is Margaret Alva.

- There are many other unspotted places in Uttarakhand which needs to be explored.

How much you know about Amitabh Bachchan ?


 You all know the flimi career of great bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan. But followings things about Amitabh Bachchan is unknown to us to some extent.

-Amitabh Bachchan hails from a Hindu Sikh family.  His father , Harivansh Rai Bachchan was hindu and His mother Teji Bachchan was a Sikh.

-Amitabh initial name was Inquilab but he renamed as “Amitabh” which means “The light would never go off”.

-His surname is Srivastava but his father used his pen-name Bachchan as his surname so after they known as Bachchan.

-Amitabh attended Jnana Prabodhini , Allahabad, Boys’s high school and Sherwood college , Naintal for his primary and secondary education.

-Amitabh is graduated in science from Kirori Mal College, Delhi.

-Amitabh has a younger brother “ Ajitabh.”

-Amitabh did a job after graduation in a company “Bird & Co.”

-Amitabh is in acting only because of his mother who herself was a theatre artist.

-Amitabh debuted his acting career in “Saat Hindustani” in 1969.

-Amitabh and Jaya has two childrens as Abhishek and Shweta.

How much you know about Delhi ?


Delhi is situated in the bank of river Yamuna. The Yamuna witness to the glorious and tumultuous 5,000 year old history of Delhi.

Delhi was created as "Indraprastha" by the Pandavas and the transformation of this barren gift of the Kauravas as "Khandavprastha" into an idyllic heaven.

The first reference to the place-name Delhi, seems to have been made in the 1st century BC, when Raja Dhilu built a city and named it after himself.

Delhi has been destroyed and recreated 7 times and It is also known as Seven cities. Everytime after the destruction, new city were formed by its ruler as per their accord. They were named as Lal Kot, Siri, Tuglakabad, Jahapanah, Firozabad, Din-Panah, Shahjahanbad.

A history which encompasses all the various kings and emperors who fixed their royal citadels here... Indraprastha, Lal Kot, Quila Rai Pithora, Siri, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad, Ferozabad, Dinpanah, Delhi Sher Shahi or then Shahjahanabad, but, combined and integrated into one, these 'new cities' have always been called Delhi

British founded New Delhi  in 1911 and shifted their capital to Delhi.

In 1950, Delhi was made the capital of Independent India and in 1992 it was declared a state.

Today Delhi is divided in 5 zones. Delhi Zones includes East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, North Delhi and Central Delhi.
